CUPUMANIK WAYANG GOLEK

Puppet show is one of the traditional arts originates from West of Java. Wayang Golek is a puppet made by wooden crafted then painted and given batik cloth, decoroted with knick-knocks.

Sundanese wooden puppets or Wayang Golek Cupumanik handicraft gallery, produces variety of Wayang Golek for domestic and foreign tourists as handicraft and also for Sundanese puppetry performance.

In wayang stories, Cupumanik is known as a round container
decorated with beautiful gems. The term which later inspired the late Herry Hermawan to establish a wayang golek gallery with the name
Cupumanik in Bandung in 1980 by gathering wayang craftsmen from
Purwakarta. Currently Cupumanik has been continued by his
daughter, the second generation owner of the Cupumanik Gallery,
Mrs. Wida Widyawati.
